Had the pleasure of Champions Golf Club. Members have to have a handicap of 15 or better, or at least did a few years ago, in order to join. The club boasts of having the most single digit players in the country.
Jackie's office was is done all in rich warm wood and features framed photographs of Hogan, Demaret, Crosby and on and on. The room holds his life his history and his love for the game. A real treat to see.

In his book, The Golfing Machine, Homer Kelley subtitled his already-named Chapters. For example, Chapter 1 / Introduction / Golf as a Game. And Chapter 2 / Statement of Principle / Golf As a Science. Finally, through 14 Chapters and the Index / Golf As a Warehouse Inventory.

The Jackie Burke story is -- and continues to be -- his own. Indeed, it is fiercely his own. His office interiors and the Champions Club he built with Jimmy Demaret reflect his own life lived.

Jackie Burke / Golf As a Life.

Works for me.
