A swinger who starts at classic will move his hands into the proper position. A hitter can do the same thing, but it's just easier to set them at fix and then hit without moving them. It took me some time, and I still don't start completely from the fix position, but is what I do is get my grip, take my stance, waggle, waggle, forward press, go. The forward press essentially sets my hands at the impact position, then I leave them there for the rest of the swing. As always, take what I say with a grain of salt. I am but a young Padawan.
