axis tilt question
During my last game, I began to think that I needed more clubhead lag in my swing (always searching for a few more yards). So I began to think about driving the butt of my club handle towards the ball in the downstroke, with the intention of sustaining my wrist cock longer. One result that I had not expected was that I felt that I was getting a huge amount of axis tilt, with my hips shifting significantly to the left. Now, I don't usually feel any axis tilt at all, though I know it occurs to some degree; so this feel of axis tilt was very noticable to me.

I am trying to figure out (1) why this happened, why all of a sudden I felt so much axis tilt and (2) if it is something that I should be happy with. I figure, for one thing, that by pulling the handle down toward the ball, I am swinging my hands closer to my body, which causes a more dramatic shift by my lower body to get out of the way. However, I worry that the additional axis tilt will cause me to distort my "tripod" and make me have to compensate in my swing to get the club head to the ball. Thoughts?
