The golf swing is basically three-lever system: The left shoulder spinning around the neck, the left arm spinning around the left shoulder. And the club spinning around the left arm. The Torque around the neck is required as long as we wish to accelerate the club. And the quality and quantity of this is THE determining factor for clubhead speed. But in addition, torque is reqired for the shoulder/arm joint (extensior action or a driving right side).
