I hope my question is clear enough and of general interest (at least I think it
should be,as i see a lot of fog on that page 76.)

I don't think that this is a list of options to choose from. It's a listing of the types of thrust that are in play in a given swing, except for #4 in the case of the hitter. At least, that's how I'm reading it.
