Seriously, there's a difference between "Lively" discussion and someone "Suffering". I think it has a lot to do with the perception of the one reading the response. I'm not a "mean" person. I certainly don't want people to suffer. OMG, this is a Golf Forum.

Cheap shots involving racial and religious bigotry, whether with serious intent or not, only serve to demean you.
Rather than proving how smart you are, in comparison to your perceived antagonists, they have quite the opposite effect.

However, we agree that there is a difference between lively discussion and "someone suffering" due to remarks of a personal or demeaning nature. Strange really, in view of your use of the latter whenever it suits your purpose.

I'll think of a "Warning" that I can use as a "Signature", visible at the end of every post I write, that will advise the reader that -no harm - was intended and I hope that personal injury was not suffered from reading this post.

To use another analogy, isn't that a bit like punching someone on the nose then saying "sorry, I was aiming for your mouth"?
