At first I tried stepping left and pulled the ball about 20 degrees left on a straight line. To reinforce staying on plane, I set an alignment rod over and on top of a ball basket and was able to consistently hit the ball without disturbing the rod. The bad news was that I kept using the Angled Hinge. Except it started out as an Angle Hinge but changed to a Vertical Hinge. I can't feel my left hip so I bumped forward and tried to turn my left shoulder left. I hit every ball straight but every ball seemed to leave at a 45 degree angle! I now know I can hit a 4 iron over a 3 story tree from 100 yards away! The 4 iron apexed at 180, and the 6 iron at 160 and the driver at 220 yards. The ball landed so softly, seeming to take 10 minutes to come down, even with the driver. I tried every ball position and the results were high and higher. I had a small bucket and was mystified. When I went to the car I checked my motion I realized I was tilting away and laying the face of the club on its back for a Vertical Hinge. Ok ,so I know turning my left shoulder helps me create a Vertical Hinge from an Angle Hinge start-up. Now I have to try a standard set-up or anything else someone can suggest.
