Again it was the same with Guru's 7 iron on the 11th. Both BJ and I went for the all glory PW that went up in the air and then spun off the green but Guru's little 7 iron with VH stayed on the green (didn't we all get pars though in the end )

Bit of height on it?
That ball had flames around it as it re-entered the atmosphere.
Well, almost.

He reverse rolled.

That's the way I remembered it, Burner. I hit that shot on your and Alex's request, and I was really proud of it . . . Dead straight and WAY up there!
In fact, I hereby submit that, to my knowledge, that was only the second* Total Motion Vertical Hinge shot I have ever hit. And it flew as expected!
Whoa!
I do love this TGM!
----------------------------------------
* The first was a sand iron to a front pin at the rock-hard 8th at East Lake the week after this year's The TOUR Championship. Another very satisfying shot . . . I'm two for two!

This afternoon one of my students walks in and shakes my hand. "Man that DVD was great, I love it!"
I was a bit surprised only because for the last two months he's been getting pure TGM instruction but didn't understand the terminology. He agreed with the concepts but sometimes I would get those looks like "what are you talking about?"
He's only viewed the first disc and is ready to roll! We stood out there from 6-7 p.m. in the cold and wind and worked on hinge actions, accumulators and balance. Now we have a common language and he has visual reinforcement thanks to Alignment Golf. Before I was speaking some mystical language but now we are just two Machiner's building the components which will give him a solid golf swing.
When he hit those pure irons all we heard was "crack" and "hissssss"!
High 5, see you next week, and work on your flying wedges

Scary...good!
Got 'em...watched 'em...love 'em!
I thought that the Drills DVD alone is worth the total of the series.
Great product...congratulations Yoda...and a heartfelt thanks

Tramapoline!
Guess what was on my floor when I got home?
You got it! Alignment Golf has arrived in the Styles house today!
Now, gotta do an appointment in twenty minutes. Its the North London derby tonight and the latest episode of Heroes will be on at 10pm.
Looks like I may be burning the midnight oil a bit later!
Think I'll watch one of the dvds tonight and the other two tomorrow!
ps inspired by the reverse roll 6 iron, I hit a reverse roll 2 iron at the range today!
From now on it will be called my 'superman' shot! - why you ask, that's easy, because it was UP, UP and AWAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!

Sounds like I'm not the only one who couldn't wait to use a vertical hinge with something other than a 30 yard cut lob shot. It's very interesting when you use it with other full shots and I'm sure at some point in a round I may need it.
One thing the dvd's are getting me back to is the use of the hinge to "create" shots. I'd gotten away from that and was relying on plane/target line orientation with a horizontal hinge for curving shots (on the few occasions I'd try to work the ball). If you have a solid understanding of each hinge motion and have control of your flat left wrist, then even if you're a swinger you CAN use an angled hinge to "hold" a shot into a R to L wind or to cut an approach into a right pin location. A hitter CAN use a horizontal hinge to "turn one over". And both can use a vertical hinge to hit a hybrid that may normally carry 215 and "moon-ball" it to 180 or 190.
So many options. Homer set out some preferred compatible components based on hitting or swinging, but boy oh boy can you get creative when you start to get this stuff down!

Your welcome, Okie. Show'em to all those budding champions you coach, and tell'em Yoda said "hello!"
