Q and A with Homer Kelley. Fact vs Illusion, Golfs problem.

The Homer Kelley Conversation
Clubhead Line of Flight (2-N-0) - That was one short paragraph in the First Edition (1969); it has grown and takes up a couple of pages now.
One of the things I point out is that the Clubhead Path is an optical illusion when you look down on it. When you look down you see it across the Plane Line and see a curve when actually you are dealing with a Plane Line and what you see is a Clubshaft Plane and what you are interested in is the Sweet Spot Plane.
Is there any question about that optical illusion?
The "Facts" and the "Illusions" - It is what the eyes see that has been the problem in Golf.

Our perception of what is really happening in our three dimensional world maybe isnt as good as we think. Certainly words or two dimensional drawings have shortcomings. Homer was unfortunate to be presenting under those limitations in book form during his day.
Here is another example from the Facts and Illusions file.
FYI, Daryl is still convinced its a fake done by the Chicago Cubs. They are the root of all evil after all.
Ya know, that's really funny. But I'm inspired that you brought up the problem.
Some "slow learners" have a problem with drawing lines on 2-dimensional photos because of the "Parallax" problem. Many of them suffer from myopic vision caused by staring at number readouts on "Trackman" radar machines. For them, parallax is a problem as well as general confusion and a constant sense of being lost in their own surroundings.
For the rest of us, those with open minds and those of us studying TGM and acquiring a taste for 3 dimensional visualization, parallax isn't such a problem.
Do you think that Landscape Artists have a problem with 3d visualization? How about scientists measuring distances between Stars by drawing and measuring lines on a 2D Image?
I don't think that it's too much to ask for someone to develop enough visualization to read a plane line drawn on a down-the-line photo of a Golfer. Unfortunately, some narrow minded people use science as a weapon. Sound familiar?
Like the Cubs, is that what you mean? Homer said we should all climb inside a plane board, that we'd be surprised by what we'd find. I havent done it, yet. Okie said he was blown away by how far left the handle goes post low point, I think. Depends what plane angle your on, I guess.
This is very good reading for the Hitter using the Angle of Approach. Although Im still scratching my head.
Maybe I should have put this in Lukes section? Go ahead and move it if you want to, Mr Admins.
One can only wonder who recorded this and who asked some of these great questions?
Reading this for the first time, I found it refreshing. But I've had a few classes at clinics with drawings and explanations. I also own a "Facts and Illusions" full size mat, which is hanging on a wall as an Art piece in the Lower Level in my Golf Room. I pass it all the time.
For those new to TGM, I'm afraid it won't be as easy to follow.

I don't have a plane board anymore. I made a chipping area instead. It doesn't depend on the Plane angle. The body really has to move to get the hands at Impact Location.
Build Half a Plane Board. The Bottom Half. Or Buy one. Tell your wife that it can be converted to a curved ironing board when you're finished with it. Or hey, it's still a man's world, don't tell her anything. But if I were you O.B., I'd giver her the "Centralized Ironing Board Station" scenario. You'll get big points for being a considerate hubby. Trust me. I'm sure that she'll look forward to it. Tell her that she'll benefit by ironing in a circle because it burns more calories. That will make her happy.
I have never stepped inside a plane board, nor a mother ship. I was gobsmacked by riding the rail...ya know the low bench dealy. My concept of on plane was way off. It would be stunning if standing inside a full-tilt (get it...get it)plane board would amaze me that much more.

Who indeed?
And who took the photos -- and has the negatives and owns the rights! -- of Homer (in his study and on his driveway) published on Mr. Furze's site?
And who remains forever out of mention and mind on that particular site?
He uses your Endless Belt diagram as well, with LBG logo and your personal avatar. FYI in the Links section there is a description of LBG , your photo and a link to this site.
