Hula-Hula, getting your left hip forward a couple of inches over your left foot, allows you to start the shoulders and club down "On Plane" rather than OTT.

Thanks. Interesting.

I know what you mean - this time. I don't think you are more wrong than the rest of us. On the contrary.

Could be an optical or intellectual illusion too.....Steering. Everybody does it on occasion.

Remember the Delivery Line of the Clubhead is in fact , Inside Out...... till Low Point. So the other way to fix your problem is to keep swinging inside out until your divots straighten out. Only the Plane Line is a Straight Line the Clubhead orbit is circular, ideally.

If the clubhead moves like that , so must the Hands. Both on the Downstroke and in Startup........dont take your Hands straight back from the ball on a line, thats Steering too. A very common form of it too.

Startdown Waggles (with Axis Tilt as Kev says) are the best drill for this, if you're looking for one. See also 1-L whatever where Homer talks about the Thrust being cross line until Both Arms Straight and then throw an imaginary ball at your Aiming Point with your Right Arm to feel this inside out thrust that is associated with a Tracing of the Straight line Plane Line. Counter intuitive or what? But right at the heart or Homer's message .......the geometry of golf is not what it first appears to be. Figure it out naturally , blindly as a kid or later in life but then sadly most likely via intellect. The darn circle lays on an inclined plane , making things quite obtuse.

Here's my 5$

I think this motion looks pretty good.

However, your address setup doesn't fit the club you you're trying to hit. Your address has too much sidebend with your head too far behind the ball. You need to get your head more over the ball at address and get your weight almost totally over your left foot in the down swing so that you can create a downward release and a low point past the ball.

PS: IF you had the same angles and a driver in your hand I would say it looked pretty close.
