I have never heard of this Island. But you are thinking of Denmark, not Norway. But in case you are interested - both Greenland and Iceland were Norwegian until 1814, when Denmark got them by a mistake when Denmark and Norway split up and Norway was given to Sweden (until 1905) as a result of the Napoleon War.
