I've met Fred before and a few other guys that do the club throwing. I watched him do his thing with some adult golfers of varying abilities. About 90% of people will look more natural and are in better positions when throwing the club. I think that he had them look at the target while doing this drill. Of course, there isn't a little white ball there. We all know how good most people's practice swings look. Fred is also into awareness and seemed to be into focusing on the target to keep the brain on the task at hand.
Personally, I think the club throwing it is a little dangerous. Sounds like your looking for a feel. Are you referring to the Hogan medicine ball drill. I think that would be good for rythym. What specifically are you looking to work on?

Thanks for your post.
Also, why is it more dangerous?
I'm just wondering if the feel, when swinging, is more like the "throwing the ball into the ground" drill or should it be more like throwing a club to the target? Just wondering which is closer to the real swing.
